Washington Park is where Denver keeps its most treasured homes, and among them, this one stands apart. Designed and built by Chalet, the acclaimed studio of John and Regan Mattingly, it is a timeless stone estate with the soul of an old-world villa and the polish of a new build. John shaped the architecture, Regan the interiors, and QAV was trusted to weave the technology through every inch of it, inside, outside, and, as it turns out, beneath it.

Light, Inside and Out

Lighting is where this home first reveals QAV's hand. Crisp, clean light runs throughout the entire property, tuned to flatter the architecture and the art on the walls rather than call attention to itself. The wine cellar glows like a jewel box. And outside, QAV designed impeccable architectural and landscape lighting that carries the beauty of the home into the evening, illuminating stone, structure, and garden with the same restraint as the rooms within.

Speakers Painted into the Stone

Some of QAV's finest work here you will never find. Outdoor speakers were faux-painted and integrated directly into the home's stone and architectural details, so music drifts across the grounds from surfaces that look like nothing but masonry. It is sound as sleight of hand, hidden in the very bones of the house.

A Secret Beneath the House

Then there is the showpiece. To give the family a true cinema, QAV and the Chalet team excavated beneath the garage to create an entirely new space, reached by a secret tunnel and passageway. What waits at the end is a fully custom, tailor-made theater: complete acoustic room treatments, bespoke seating, pristine projection, Kaleidescape content to bring the screen to life, and an audio system built for goosebumps. It is the kind of room most people only glimpse in films, hidden right under a home in Wash Park.

One Home, One Touch

Tying it all together is Crestron. Lighting, motorized shades, integrated climate and heating, security, surveillance, and access control all answer to a single elegant system, along with something most homes never automate: the exterior water features and fountains, which start and still at a touch. And rather than live through a phone, the family interacts with the home through dedicated touch panels placed throughout, a deliberate choice by QAV to let them set down their devices and simply be present in the space around them.

Flawless in the Details

Underpinning everything is a whole-house network and Wi-Fi built to carry it all without a stutter, plus Samsung Frame televisions dressed in custom frames that hang as art until the moment you want a screen. Every layer considered. Every layer invisible.

This is QAV at the height of its craft, an entire home orchestrated so completely, and so quietly, that the technology all but disappears into one of Denver's most coveted addresses.

You will never see the work. You will only feel the home.

We asked for a home where the technology would disappear, and QAV delivered beyond anything we imagined. The lighting is perfect, the hidden theater is a dream we did not know we could have, and the whole house responds to a single touch. It feels like magic, and it feels like ours.
